Week 3: North Texas’ Biggest Games & Our Predictions
Week 2 was nothing short of a movie in North Texas.
From crosstown rivalries and statement wins to historic blowouts and breakout performances, the second week of the season gave us plenty to talk about — and Week 3 is shaping up to be even bigger.
Southlake Carroll traveled to Crowley ISD and suffered the largest regular-season loss in program history, falling 40-10 behind a dominant performance from Class of 2027 running back G’yrell Smith and the Crowley Eagles.
Allen continued to establish itself as one of the teams to beat in 6A Division I, dismantling DeSoto 50-6. Class of 2029 wide receiver Zach Williams and quarterback Ty Snell helped lead the way as the Eagles sent another statement to the rest of the state.
Meanwhile, Waxahachie picked up an impressive win over Coppell behind explosive performances from Class of 2028 running back Taylen Strange and Class of 2029 wide receiver Jashawn Crayton.
But Week 3 brings a completely different level of competition.
A Loaded Week 3 Slate
This could be the most loaded week of pre-district football we see all season.
North Crowley welcomes Summer Creek to North Texas in a matchup featuring two of the hottest programs in the state. Allen takes on Southlake Carroll in another major 6A Division I showdown, while Duncanville and DeSoto renew one of North Texas' most anticipated annual rivalries.
The Parrish Classic also gives us a rematch between North Shore and South Oak Cliff, while Waxahachie faces an undefeated Denton Guyer squad in another major test.
And the marquee matchups don't stop there.
Austin Westlake takes on Prosper, Aledo battles Trinity, and several other games across the region could have major implications as teams continue preparing for district play.
