The Roland Parrish Classic will bring four of Texas’ premier high school football programs to the Cotton Bowl on September 12, creating one of the biggest doubleheaders of the 2026 season.
Duncanville will face DeSoto in a highly anticipated rivalry matchup, while North Shore will take on South Oak Cliff in another showdown featuring two programs accustomed to competing deep into the postseason.
The matchup between Duncanville and DeSoto brings together two of the state’s most talented programs. DeSoto enters the season as the defending Class 6A Division II state champion, while Duncanville remains one of Texas’ most nationally recognized football powers.
With both schools located just south of Dallas, the rivalry carries significance beyond rankings and playoff projections. The programs are familiar with one another, regularly compete for many of the area’s top athletes and enter nearly every season with championship expectations.
The second matchup will feature Houston powerhouse North Shore against South Oak Cliff, one of Dallas’ most successful programs in recent years.
North Shore has established itself as a consistent contender at Texas’ highest classification, while South Oak Cliff has developed into a championship-caliber program and one of the leading teams in Class 5A. Their meeting will offer an early-season test for both sides and provide a rare matchup between prominent programs from the Houston and Dallas areas.
Playing both games at the Cotton Bowl adds another layer to an already significant event. The historic Dallas venue will provide a major-stage atmosphere for four teams expected to draw statewide attention throughout the season.
With two rivalry-rich, talent-loaded matchups on the same day, the Roland Parrish Classic stands as one of the marquee events on the 2026 Texas high school football calendar.
