Week 7 Predictions: Can We Finally Get This Right?

Anddddd we’re back.

After taking a week off following Week 6’s absolute snooze-fest of a slate, we’re back to regularly scheduled programming — and thankfully, this week has plenty to talk about.

Before we get into this week’s slate, let’s take a quick look back at what happened last week.

Week 6 gave us plenty of blowouts, with Melissa getting handled by 60, Lewisville winning by 30, Guyer by 40, Frisco Lone Star by 60, and LD Bell by 30. But it wasn’t all blowouts. Trinity Euless pulled out a one-score victory, while Celina, Anna, and Flower Mound all survived games decided by fewer than five points.

Now, Week 7 is where things get interesting.

We’ve got a Top 5 matchup between No. 2 North Crowley and No. 3 Waxahachie, a Top 10 battle between No. 6 Guyer and No. 7 Lewisville, and a Top 20 matchup featuring No. 9 Argyle and No. 20 Lovejoy.

And that’s not even mentioning DeSoto vs. Lancaster, Duncanville vs. Mansfield, and a whole slate of important district matchups that could have major implications moving forward.

We won’t bore you with predictions for every game on the schedule, so instead, let’s see how we did with last week’s picks.

Honestly? This was one of our best weeks.

We correctly picked 13 of 15 winners, while missing on just two games. The bigger issue was the margins, where a few of our picks were a little too aggressive.

Still, after some questionable prediction weeks earlier in the season, we’ll take it.

Now comes the real question:

Can we finally put together a near-perfect week?

  7. Frisco Lone Star over Heritage by 40+ points

  8. Longview over Rockwall by fewer than 20 points

  9. Southlake Carroll over Northwest by 40+ points

  10. Timberview over Seguin by 30+ points

  11. DeSoto over Lancaster by 20+ points

  12. Duncanville over Mansfield by 30+ points

  13. Crowley over Red Oak by fewer than 20 points

And there you have it.

14 picks. Plenty of huge matchups. Plenty of opportunities for us to either look like geniuses or completely sell.

The North Crowley–Waxahachie matchup alone could shake up the North Texas landscape, while Guyer–Lewisville, Argyle–Lovejoy, DeSoto–Lancaster, and Duncanville–Mansfield all have the potential to make things very interesting.

But as always, predictions are just predictions.
